JUDI'S CHRISTMAS PRESENT
This is Washington a Bernese Mountain Dog, St Bernard cross. He was conceived during the wildfires in Rock Creek this past year. He was unexpected and unplanned for, but we are grateful for him to join our clan on the ranch.
He was born October 19, 2015 and we got him at seven weeks old. He has grown about three pounds a week and his last picture here shows him at just over thirty pounds. He is smart and very content.

Shih Tzu Yorkie (Shorkie)
Temperament
- Yorkie shih tzu dogs are generally well-behaved and playful. Like a yorkie, shorkies are quite active and are perfect for families who are the same, states MixedBreedPups.com. Shorkies often make good therapy dogs, as they are typically calm when they need to be, along with being pleasant and outgoing.
Because they are social, yorkie shih tzus do not like to be left alone for long periods of time and crave constant affection and companionship. In addition, shorkies, as with most dogs, should be socialized when they are young--with both humans and other dogs--to become familiar with them and so they are not afraid as they grow into adulthood. Furthermore, yorkie shih tzus often become attached to their owners, making them very loyal companions, but have a tendency to be quite stubborn.
- Some shorkies look more like shih tzus, while others look more like yorkies. Moreover, some yorkie shih tzus look like neither breed---it all depends on what the parents looked like and their genes. However, most shorkies weigh between 5 and 16 lbs. and are 5 to 11 inches tall. Shorkie hair color varies; some are gold and have black masks on their faces like yorkies while others are all red, solid gold, black and tan or a combination of gold, black, white and chocolate.

The Border-Aussie (cross between an Australian Shepherd and a Border Collie)
Australian Shepherd:
Australian Shepherds are not only incredibly cute and they are also very smart. These dogs learn commands quickly and are happy to obey them. The temperament of this breed is very stable and they rarely get defensive.
Border Collie:
The Australian Border Collie is one of the most intelligent dogs that you can ever pet. This breed is a firecracker of energy but this upsurge of energy can often result in a physical and mental disruptive tendency. They need to be stimulated mentally and physically. The breed has a ton of energy and as long as you can keep them occupied they will be joy to have around.
Border collie Australian Shepherd mix
As you can imagine a combination of the traits of these two breeds can give you a dog that is energetic and takes well to training but remember that the Border Collie or to that matter Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix is certainly not a breed that you should go for if you tend to lead a sedentary lifestyle because these dogs need a lot of physical activity.

"Spirit" our new addition - Big thank you to Color V Ranch in 150 Mile House
March 15, 2013
After a six hour round trip to Merrit I was able to bring home our new ranch dog. "Spirit" is a six year old Australian Shepherd /Border Collie. She is the more rare color of Australian Shepherds, a tri colored merle with her left eye mostly blue, hence the name Spirit (as dogs with one blue eye were known as spirit dogs back in the day).
FIRST NIGHT: Was met this morning by a bright eyed tail wagging Spirit (lol) her and Trisket and I went out to check the ponies - came back for breakfast - coffee for me Kibbles & Bits for the girls. Not a whimper from Spirit last night - so far so good.... she is laying at the back door right now (just like she belongs)
